Ps would also lose the band just not right here and i love a brass band
When i was in a mvc this was always my favourite and most difficukt to singvery difficult with tears streaming .baritone btw.
One of gods favourite hymns
Fantastic occasion. Wish I'd been there. Love the last verse
The best of the best of the best
Glorious!! I can almost imagine Heaven's courts, one day, ringing to the sound of multitudes singing praises to the Prince of Glory who died and is alive forever more! Love so amazing, so Divine...
Superb. Powerful. Sublime.
Great just great
A grand Victorian sound, in the ultimate Victorian venue - superb. The conductor forgets to indicate to the women to rise in good time so they begin to do it themselves at 3:01, before the camera cuts away to a shot of the organ pipes!
What a great shame the band intervened
Wonderful evening with my fellow country men ! This lovely arrangement spoilt by the band on the last verse.
I fully agree - the "oompah-" style fanfare does the music a grave disservice!
Love it.
Felicidades a la orquesta y el coro genial bendiciones
Dios y la virgen les bendigan con amor y paz

Sang this a few years ago in a massed choir. Just at the build up to the final verse, all the lights went out. All we could just make out was the conductors white tuxedo arms. The sound and effect still sends shivers down my spine.
I Agree what singing
My only disappointment is that as usual there is a verse missing. removed by the squeamish Victorians. Should be 5 verses.
Amazing. Unbelievable xx
This is much nicer sung in Welsh.
It just happened to be written in English
My Dad is in there somewhere.Went Home in 2016 and his choir ,The Glasgow Philharmonic male voice choir ,sang this for us at his funeral. <3 :)
Same with my grandpa. Chapel Male Voice Choir. They sang for his funeral last year.

Wonderfull singing spoilt by the band in the last verse!
Some weeks ago, I wrote saying that there was a beautiful tune, usually sung by male voice choirs, but that I did not know the name, well this is it. Morte Christe, Some one kindly wrote and suggested O Waly Waly, but I have a CD of that played by a Salvation Army Band and was familiar with it anyway. On this present performance I am not too happy with the final verse, being a triumphal ending it would have been great to hear that mighty organ “ blast” it out.

Absolutely lovely & fond memories! Can't wait till this is all over and can get back to singing in the choir! xx
in heavenly love abiding hymns of praise on the ABC
This might be a big ask, but does anybody have a video of the Llanelli Cor Meibion with Gwyn Davies singing please? I'm sure he was one of the founding members of the choir... Many thanks.
Powerful hymn of love and commitment.
In god we trust

So anointed and touching ...God be praised.. Joe Daniels S.A

I like the pompous start up of the band before the last verse because the occasion in the narrative deserves it.
I agree.
It was incredible to be there. I had the privilege of performing with my choir and it's a memory I will never forget ❤ (It was actually 2012)
I was loving this till the band started up for the last verse. I have nothing against bands but it was so out of place, the organ, especially the RAH organ is more than capable of accompanying the choir, the band made me shudder in completely the wrong way!
Only found this today and I must say that the final verse , played by the orchestra was absolutely amazing. The way the hymn is supposed to be sung. Ardderchog ! :)
Nia Obaid God bless your good looks. Jesus love you!
My favourite Easter Hymn and tune. Beautifuly sung.
Beautiful!
This was actually in Nov 2012. I only know cos I was singing!!
What a marvelous experience! This is such a grand tune and arrangement.
Have just said the same on another comment Warren, as I too had the privilege. We are the ladies choir in turquoise and black, just next to the band. What a night eh? One we will never forget ❤
Lose the band
This is a great favorite in Cornwall !
Very much so !
Celts unite! I'm descended from Welsh and Cornish settlers in Australia.
Wonderful but spoilt by the tin pot band at the end...
Arthur J Dale ,the band is good. Perhaps those who criticise the band are those who weren’t quite good enough to get a place in the band.
@@Randolph1233 The band might be good, but completely out of place in this performance. I speak as one who has no discernible musical talent and therefore have no interest in securing a place in the band.
Tin pot?? Two bands performed that night, The Grimethorpe Colliery Band and the Cory Band, arguably two of the finest in the world and it was the most incredible experience ❤
A beautiful piece, completely ruined by that awful pompous orchestral arrangement in the last verse.
Superb tune, well sung.
yeh jack!
Beautiful sunset!
